It’s almost summer time, memorial day is right around the corner. Doesn’t it always feel like summer flies by?

You have all these awesome plans to go camping or hiking or fishing, or all three. And all of sudden, it’s labor day again.

We’re here to help you avoid wasting your summer so you get in all of the outdoor time you can.

First, plan ahead. Set dates for camping trips now and put in for days off right away. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Second, get in shape. Nothing kills a summer quicker than not being able to keep up on the trail or hike to camp. Start getting into shape now so you’re ready for any adventure when you have the chance.

Speaking of chances, take all of the chances you can get. Whether you can only squeeze in a morning of fishing or one night of camping - take what you can before the fall and winter come back.

Volunteering is another great way to make sure you make the most of summer. Things like river clean ups and other conservation efforts go on all summer long so spend some time outside protecting our public lands.

Lastly, explore. If you live closer to a city and driving a few hours makes things like camping hard, find other ways to camp. There are so many opportunities around us that we don’t even know about. Use this summer to explore.

How are you planning to have an awesome summer? What’s on your summer bucket list?
